$2M in client revenue over two years. 20 projects. Collaborators across 5 countries.
Tafka, short for The Agency Formerly Known As, was a digital agency I started with two other founders after coming back from Hong Kong. We ran it on an open team and cooperative model, partnering with creatives from France, Argentina, Brazil, the US and Mexico to push brands, websites and product design forward.
The main goal: give clients the range of a full agency without the overhead of one, by assembling the right group of people around each project instead of keeping everyone on payroll and finding them work.
I was director of strategy and account manager, and I worked the whole way through, from strategy and creative direction to hands on design alongside our collaborators. I was the creative liaison across every project and held the client relationships, so my time went into shaping what we were making and why, and then making it.
One of our clients was Open Collective. We did a couple of projects together, and then they offered me the design leadership position.
